Country Rabbit Stickers (Dover Little Activity Books)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (February, 1991)
Average review score:

Great dealThis is not really a book to read but a collection of stickers. For the price and the "cuteness", it's a good value for little kids. My daughter (1 1/2 years old) loves stickers and she's picky enough not to like any old random type of stickers. She has real preferences. So, this book, along with similar ones by the same author (Horses, etc.) is great.

Darkwater: Voices from Within the Veil (Dover Thrift Editions)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (September, 1999)
Average review score:

BELOVED, LISTEN TO CONSCIENTIOUS VOICES.Fondly called W.E.B., Dr William Edward Burghardt DuBois was a conscientious voice, whose mouthpiece was just a pen. Each of his writings buttressed this point.
A bundle of intellect, all his works have remained potent till this day. Having enumerated the problems and experiences of emancipated slaves in "The Souls of Black Folk", Dr DuBois used this book, "Darkwater: Voices from Within the Veil", to highlight the intricacies of the then White-Black relationships. This book has a socio-economic focus, and dealt with such associational issues like exploitative labour, voting rights, women's rights, and family values. It suggested guidance and remedies wherever necessary. The ideas and insights of Dr DuBois were general in perspective: both Whites and Blacks were thought of.
This book is more than eighty years old; however, anybody who reads it, needs only to turn a few pages before discovering that we are still grappling with most of its lamentations.
Finally, I must say that I cherished reading this book. "Darkwater: Voices from Within the Veil" is a compelling piece; especially for anyone who is familiar with either "The Souls of Black Folk" or "Dusk of Dawn".

Deborah Goes to Dover (Traveling Matchmaker-Book 5)
Published in Paperback by St Martins Mass Market Paper (September, 1992)
Average review score:

Cute! The scrapes which Miss Pym and Deborah get into are quite funny, and I even found myself chuckling quietly to myself on occasion. I loved the two stories going on at once during the book, the first being Deborah's romance, and the second, Miss Pym's love of her late employer's brother.

Decorative Alphabets Stained Glass Pattern Book (Dover Craft Books)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (June, 1987)
Average review score:

Very UsefulThis book is very useful if you need to make signs or addresses in stained glass. The patterns are practical and well thought out. There are enough fonts offered that you will be able to find one that suits the correct time period or look you are trying to achieve. I am not aware of another book like this that specializes in only letters and numbers so it fills a specific need and is essential for that specialty.

Decorative Stencil Designs: A. Wiggers, J. Trischka, Et Al (Dover Pictorial Archives Series)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (July, 1997)
Average review score:

Over 300 designs from the 19th century. If you're looking for a variety of great stencil designs this book has it all - medallions, tile designs, borders, all-over repeats. Most are quite ornate but can be simplified. The designs photo-copied and enlarged with clean crisp lines. If you're new to stencilling this book would work best combined with a stencil decorating book like The Stenciled Home to see how these designs could be adapted to walls, furniture and other surfaces.

Great gift! Good value!I have bought several of these little notebooks, including the Degas design. I give them as small gifts or rewards. Children and adults alike love them, and you certainly can't beat the price!

Designs from Pre-Columbian Mexico (Dover Pictorial Archives)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (June, 1971)
Average review score:

Useful and beautiful motiffsI have both books by the late Jorge Enciso who did the world a great service by carefully collecting these various designs from the archeological digs of the Mexicas, Toltecs, Totonacs and others. All the designs are black and white and come from various museums and private colections including that of the great Mexican painter Diego Rivera. The designs come from malacates which were small spindles made of clay by the pre-columbiam cultures. There are approximately 2-4 designs per page which allows for clarity for the artists use for reproduction. With the use of computers many of these images may be reproduced for use in any type of creative endeavor where a Mexican motiff is desired. An artist may find the designs inspirational for a new creation or use the existing image as is. Simple geometric designs, including images of humans, animals, flowers both real and imagined give a concise and visual glimpse at the ancient cultures imagery . This is an excellent source book that is useful for a variety of projects and applications for all interested in pre-columbian motiffs. Recommended for teachers, students and artists of all ages. Guaranteed to amaze all with the simplicity of the motiffs yet astound with the imaginative results. This is a worthwhile addition to ones personal libray to be filed under Art or Mexico. School librarians would be helping their students by adding this to their collection of books.

Dog Stickers (Dover Little Activity Books)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (August, 1992)
Average review score:

great little bookThis is the first of a few little sticker books that I have purchased for my daughter. They are inexpensive and filled with lots of stickers. My daughter loves dogs and so having dog stickers to stick on everything has been great. Also, I gave the horse one to a friend whose daughter loves horses. Soon after, her daughter was having a meltdown over some other little girl's toy and my friend was able to save the day with the horse sticker book. These books are a great value.

Dore's Illustrations of the Crusades (Dover Pictorial Archive Series)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (01 August, 1997)
Average review score:

Dore does it again!Beautiful, lyrical, and sensuous images from the Crusades.I am enraprured by the scope, graphic power and compositional greatness of this largely forgotten artist. Though we may look at the politics of the Crusades differently than the Victorians, this book is sure to please any fan of 19th century art. One look at Dore and you see where Cecil B. Demille got much of his inspiration.

Double Wedding Ring Patchwork: With Plastic Templates (Dover Needlework Series)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (July, 1992)
Average review score:

Looks hard, it's not!As a beginner I thought that the double wedding ring quilt would be hard, not with this book. It has wonderful, easy to follow templates that are plastic so they won't get ruined after one use. The price was amazing too. I highly reccomend this book for beginners!
